Point of Peace Summit: Conference on Climate and Conflict

The topics of the Summit are some of the most important of our age; the climate challenge, poverty and the increased international tension connected to the fight against terrorism, and the media. Several Nobel Peace Laureates, representatives of the Norwegian Government and important national and international experts will participate. Cooperation with schools and business will include people of all age in the debate.

The first day will deal with the climate challenges and the need for the energy supply to meet the growing demand that is following the economic growth in the world. Day two will examine the conflicts in the aftermath of the attacks on the USA on September 11th 2001 and strategies used in the fight against terrorism. The third day will focus one the role of the media in war and conflict situations - both as a conflict transformers and agitator.
